Peace Between Israel and Palestine?
Israel and Palestine have made controversial headlines again. After many years of conflict dating back to biblical times, Palestine has been recognized as a " U.N. Non-Member Observer State." On November 29th, one hundred twenty eight votes conquered the nine opposing votes against Palestine being recognized as a state, while forty five others entirely abstained from the vote. America was one of nine to stand by Israel, even while many have turned their backs against them. To many this may seem as something positive, but to a few this is only the beginning of many relevant things to come.
"I think it's wrong." Judith said, after being asked how she felt about Israel being at risk of losing territory or even being charged with war crimes. Adding that she feels they should be united and there should be peace between the Israelis and Palestinians. Though peace may seem enticing to a vast majority of societies, actions leading into it are all but peaceful. The question is; what are the events that will lead to "World Peace?"
Conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis began thousands of years ago, when they were known as the Philistines, and the Hebrews. 1,175 years BC Philistine was known to be the most dangerous enemy of the Hebrew nation. For all of these years they have been quarreling over one reason: Land. Land that was promised from the very beginning.
In Genesis 17 God made a covenant with Abraham. Israel resisted on giving up any more territory to Palestine because they feel this is their promised land. Unfortunately the Hebrews have turned their faces from God many times. When we lose faith and question God we sometimes bring trial upon ourselves. Only God is gracious, and thanks to his mercy, He is forgiving. Israel continues to stand for what they believe, clinging to the one thing they have been fighting for all this time. A home.
Truth Hack has interviewed many individuals from within our community. Many stated that they fear war in the Middle East. They yearn for the day that peace is finally declared between both nations. I myself am against war of any sort. Daniel 8:25 tells us that by peace he (the Antichrist) shall destroy many. The focus all around is Peace. Many want peace, but what is the cost of peace?
